About Paula Wheeler

I've been a writer for hire since 1999, delivering effective marketing communications, editorial content and public relations writing to more than 100 clients, all with amazing stories to tell.
My clients are companies large and small. They include universities, design and marketing agencies, hospitals and healthcare organizations, foundations and nonprofit organizations, associations and sometimes, other writers.
While I have specific interest and experience in higher education and healthcare, my clients represent a variety of industries including financial services, law, real estate development and municipalities, as well as the nonprofit sector. I also offer editorial services and for more than five years years have served as the editor of the quarterly Shorewood Today magazine.

After earning bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from Northwestern University, I worked at several top international public relations firms in Chicago and Washington, D.C., then worked in marketing communications at a healthcare risk management services company.
I started my business in Chicago, where my clients included Peapod, Inc, the University of Chicago, Baxter Healthcare, VSA Partners, Mercy Hospital, Morningstar, Inc. and more. Today my family and I live in Shorewood, Wis., a wonderful community right next to Milwaukee on the shores of Lake Michigan. Local clients include the Village of Shorewood, Marquette University and Alverno College.
I invite you to review my work by industry or type of project. If you like what you see, please get in touch!
